Department of English, AIUB organized a cultural program titled "Celebrate Togetherness” on a virtual platform on 4th April 2021. In the evening of 4th April, the students and teachers of the department of English, availed themselves of this long awaited opportunity of holding a cultural get-together. Both the faculties and students performed on the occasion.
Among the performances there were song, poetry recitation, dance, story-telling and funny micro-play performed by current students, alumni and teachers alike. Alumna Musharrat Jahan Anchol presented a beautiful modern song. Faculty on leave Kuntala Shabnam Parama enchanted the audience with her beautiful Sachin Dev Burman song. Besides, faculty Shihab Saqib pleased the audience with his beautiful recitation of Robert Frost’s poem Mending Wall. Recorded dance performance by Kaspia, self-composed micro-story telling by Mrittika and songs by Emon, Sharmili, Tahmina were also of great entertainment for the audience. Out of the performances, one comedy play by the students of the department on online classes, sowed immense humor and enjoyment among the audience in the stormy evening of 4th April 2021. Overall, performances of different type amalgamated in a fine-tuned manner in the cultural program became a breath of relief for the audience in the pandemic lockdown situation.
