AIUB JOB FAIR 2017
The American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) organized their annual AIUB Job Fair 2017 on Saturday, the 9th of December 2017. The Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, inaugurated the fair at 10:30 AM. More than 80 renowned national and multinational companies participated in the event, including industries like banking, IT solutions, telecommunications, networking solutions, pharmaceuticals, leasing & finance, call centers, automobile, real-estate, job portals, accessories and equipment, agro-business and FMCGs, amongst many others. Many of the representatives of the participating companies were alumni members of the university, who expressed their joy at being able to come back and contribute to their alma mater. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna and Ms. Nadia Anwar, the Founder and Vice President of Student Affairs, visited the stalls and expressed their gratitude to the companies for their collaborative participation.
The AIUB Job Fair is organized every year, as a platform for the alumni and future graduates of the university, to facilitate transition into the corporate world. This flagship event has been organized by the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA) with the support of Office of Student Affairs (OSA), under the leadership and guidance of Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, the Founder & Chairman, Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan, the Founder, Treasurer, and Vice President of HR & Administration, and Ms. Nadia Anwar, the Founder and Vice President of Student Affairs. The program was hosted by the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA), coordinated by Mr. Roomee Tareque Moudud, the Director of OPA. Among others, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, the Vice President of Academics, Registrar, the deans, directors, departmental heads, faculty members, other senior officials, and numerous students were also present. The day-long program continued till 4:00 PM, attracting a large number of existing students and alumni seeking better opportunities for their ambitious careers, throughout the event.
