Advertising Pitch Competition.

Department of Marketing, AIUB organized a student participatory session on “Advertisement Pitching Competition” on 26th July, 2012. Competitors of the course were the students of – Advertising and Sales Promotion. The objective of the event was to enrich students’ knowledge on basics of Advertisement making and research required to communicate a product successfully. Sixteen groups of two sections identified a less effective advertisement and presented Plan B strategy to overcome the shortfalls. Mr. Kaushik Dey, Creative Director of Interspeed Communication gave a thorough and constructive critic’s view as the Chief Judge; Mr. M Sohel Iqbal, Protocol Officer of the Australian High Commission in Bangladesh shared his insights for the prospects of the student’s efforts as future advertisers by highlighting the positives as guest Judge. Mr. Feroz Mohsin, Strategic Planning and Business Development Direct of Madonna Communication Limited answered to students several queries related to the business. He also gave away the top five teams’ certificates. Faculty members Mr. Hamidul Islam, Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Ms. Tahsina Khan, Ms. Shafinaz, Mr. Kamrul Haq, Mr.Sultanul Hasnat Nahian were also present to encourage the students. Honorable Associate Dean of Business Faculty, Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury appreciated and watched the students’ efforts with great zeal. There was a full house audience from other major and courses as the session was entertaining, creative and enlightening for them. Students thoroughly appreciated the constructive criticisms for their work and also for the hint of the future job market for Marketing major that awaits them. Ms. Mahreen Mamoon, faculty, Dept. of Marketing organized the event as course instructor with direct supervision from Mr. Zubair Shibli, Depart Head of Marketing.
