Abstract
Smartwatches and health trackers have become a great tool for teachers to keep track of students’ health and at the same time enhance their academic performances. The major reason for this study is to evaluate the effects of wearable technology on student wellness, attendance, academic performance, and productivity from 2015 to 2023. The overall goal of this study is to assess the impact of wearable technology on the learners’ health, attendance, and academic performance in Bangladesh. Furthermore, it establishes the connection between the wearable tech adoption and the number of educational events, which are dedicated to the trend. In addition, it uses the data on increased attendance which is in correlation with academic performance rate and the Student Well-being Index and even the festivals organized to promote this trend are included to support the correlation. The data set is based on the Ministry of Education, BANBEIS and health surveys Changes in student well-being index (5.0 in 2015, 7.2 in 2023) contrasted the critical themes of the use of wearable technology in schools, and improvement of attendance 1% (2015) and 12% (2023), and academic performance 0.5% (2015) and 6.0% (2023). Attendance and academic performance showed improvement in 2023. Performance increased 6 percent, with attendance up 12.5 percent. The jump in well-being numbers—from 5.0 in 2015 to 7.2 in 2023—is linked to a healthier lifestyle and less stress. More importantly, with all of the measurements, many schools that implemented wearables from an operational standpoint able to see the performance of the pupils steadily improving. In Bangladesh, the use of wearable technology has yielded positive student outcomes. The proliferation of wearable tech projects arouses awareness of its possibilities in education, as well as student care including health monitoring in remote and impoverished areas.
