Abstract

Bangladesh is experiencing rapid urbanization, which creates a growing need for sustainable food production solutions. Vertical farm ing (VF) combined with renewable energy offers a promising approach to improving food security while maintaining environmental sustainabil ity. This paper builds on previous research on energy-efficient VF by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) tech nologies to enable intelligent resource management and automation. A smart system is proposed that uses IoT sensor networks and AI-based predictive analytics to optimize energy use, irrigation, and lighting in ur ban VF settings. The system also includes renewable energy forecasting for efficient operation and a remote monitoring dashboard for farmers. The proposed model aims to increase crop yield, reduce resource con sumption, and support scalable urban farming in Bangladesh.
