Abstract
For young children’s growth and survival good nutrition is one of important factor. However, not all children get the same opportunities and benefits, even though many health initiatives and services exist in Bangladesh. This study examines how child nutrition, disease, and access to health services have changed over time among children under five years. This report analyzes information from 1994 to 2023 the parameters are health fairness, disease rates, nutrition levels, access to health services, and immunization coverage. Simple statistics and trends are used to check how these parameters have changed over the years and how they are related to each other. From the findings, the data from 1994 to 2023 shows inconsistent progress in child nutrition indicators and child health. Health equity undulated between 0.43 and 0.89 shows constant differences. Diseases prevalence dropped at times however remained unstable, peaking almost 30%. Nutritional scores showed excellent performance (almost 90) but declined sharply in others. Access to services showed a good result, improved overall, though with setbacks there was a score exceeding 90% in 2012 and 2022. Immunization coverage(%), in 1998 peaked at 98% but declined afterward, which shows challenges and setbacks in sustaining consistent child health outcomes. Bangladesh has made progress in improving health access and reducing diseases by initiatives and services but nutrition gaps are still exist. More specialized programs are needed to make sure all children get equal and fair health benefits and nutrition for their better future.
