Abstract

"Abstract: Background: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students frequently face significant academic pressure due to rigorous coursework, frequent assessments, and the rapidly evolving nature of their field, leading to stress and anxiety that can adversely affect their academic performance and personal development. Effective coping mechanisms, such as time management and peer support, are crucial for managing this stress and fostering essential technical and soft skills. This study investigates the relationship between academic pressure and coping strategies among CSE students in Bangladesh, with a focus on how these mechanisms support their skill development and academic progression. Objectives: The aim of this research is to investigate sources of academic stress among CSE students in Bangladesh and examine the coping mechanisms they employ. It also evaluates the effectiveness of these strategies in enhancing learning, skill development, and balancing academic demands with personal growth. Data Sources: Primary data will be collected through structured surveys administered to AIUB CSE students to identify academic stressors and coping mechanisms. Additionally, secondary data will be sourced from existing research on academic stress and coping strategies among university students in Bangladesh. Variables Under Study: The study focuses on variables such as academic stressors (e.g., workload, deadlines), coping mechanisms (e.g., time management, peer support), and skill development outcomes among AIUB CSE students. These variables will be analyzed to understand their interrelationships and impacts on students' academic experiences. "
