Abstract
Effective communication is foundational in modern society and essential for bridging language gaps and encouraging inclusivity. The debut of Sign Language Recognition (SLR) technology has important implications for promoting inclusive relationships between deaf and hearing individuals. Despite significant advancements in Bangla Sign Language (BSL) technology, the absence of a widely accessible, market-standard product indicates a key gap in the implementation of developing technologies. This research fills this gap by investigating public perceptions towards SLR technology, focusing on its potential to benefit everyday life and societal relationships. Through a comprehensive online survey and extensive statistical analysis, including correlation and regression, our work provides a complete examination of public demand for SLR technology in Bangladesh. Our findings demonstrate high public awareness and appreciation of SLR's benefits, delivering vital insights for policymakers, technology developers, and educators. This study highlights the significance of matching technology innovation with public demands and preferences by addressing the often-overlooked issue of human interaction and societal acceptance. We consider proactive government action to exploit these public sentiments, encouraging the widespread adoption and integration of SLR into society structures. This research contributes to the ongoing conversation on how technology may break down communication barriers, creating a more inclusive future for all persons, regardless of how they communicate.
