Abstract

In Bangladesh farming is a significant part of economy. The use of IT tools in farming has positively impacted agriculture. This study aims to explore the impact of IT on agricultural productivity, focusing on yield improvement and cost reduction. Additionally, it aims to understand the role of IT training programs, and government and NGO investment on IT adoption growth in farming. The Data were collected from government reports, NGO initiatives, and international organizations such as FAO and BARI for the timeframe from 2015 to 2023. Based on the data, correlation and regression analyses were conducted to examine the study. The key factors to analyze the study include IT adoption rates in farming, yield improvements, cost reductions, number of IT training programs performed, and government/NGO investment. Correlation analysis showed strong positive links between IT adoption and both yield improvement (r = 0.9976) and cost reduction (r = 0.9985). Regression analysis indicates that IT adoption was significantly influenced by government/NGO investment and IT training programs, with an R² value of 0.9986. The findings suggest that IT adoption is a significant part which enhance productivity and reducing costs in agricultural in Bangladesh. Additionally, the findings show the importance of investment in IT and training programs for higher IT adoption in farming.
