AIUB Library

Introduction

The AIUB Library was started in 1994 in order to cater to the academic and research needs of the faculty, research scholars, students, and officers. Over the years, the Library has grown steadily and expanded its services and holdings by leaps and bounds to live-up to the expectations of its immediate patrons. The book stock is arranged in a classified sequence based on the Dewey Decimal System (DDC), and the great majority of volumes in the Library are on open shelves, available for borrowing.

The library of AIUB is the collection of the knowledge and built up a balanced and rich collection in Business Administration, Science and Technology, Computer and Social Science. It is an open library system to students of AIUB, which provides rich collection of books including journals, newsletter, thesis works and CDs. Students ID cards stand as library card. Students can borrow any books and CDs from the library for 7 days except the textbook. At present the library has more than 43,318 books, 1,72,000 e-books, 68,000 e-journals and a student sitting capacity of more than 500. AIUB library has "AIUB Library system" the software which has been created by university IT department and now the system is operational i.e., students are now getting the modern facilities.

Policy

Students ID cards stand as library card for borrowing library resources. Members may borrow library resources for a maximum of three days and resources may be renewed. Library resources are issued only to the members in person without any exception. The members are solely and fully responsible for safe keeping of the resources borrowed and their return on time. Library resources are checked out by the designated library officer and need to be returned at the circulation desk during the working hours only. A student may borrow 3 books at a time for a maximum of 7 days. A Faculty may borrow 5 (Five) books at a time for the whole semester. The Faculty/student member may borrow reference books, reserved books, journals and periodicals to make photocopy from outside for a period of one hours only depositing valid ID Card at the circulation desk
